Yes, my frame of reference is the circle of entrepreneurs I’ve worked with, all of whom I would describe as the “earthly kinds.” I used to manage a product for developers, and through that experience met many of the more aspirational, soon-to-be “tech billionaire” variety. I appreciate the distinction you’re drawing.

Part of my confusion here, as it relates to the second group, is that their position isn’t coherent. If your ambition is a “market rate paycheck” with some potential upside (even riches), then it makes no sense to start a company. You’re far more likely to succeed in that goal by joining an established venture.

Which leads again to the qualification of purpose. I’ll take up that point in your other thread.
