This might be one of the most subtle yet profound changes wrought by AI. I think you captured the essence of it in the productivity aspects, both in terms of what makes the technology compelling but also its limitations. It pulls us all back to the mean, the semantic common denominators. These aren’t just suggestions. They represent a sort of survival of the fittest for thoughts.

For now it’s just autocomplete; we’re still driving the context. But this too will change, as AI begins to synthesize entire documents. At that point, I’m not sure there’s an individual voice to be found in these systems.
