Thanks for clarifying. By metaphysical, I meant aspects that are not presently (or ever) empirically testable. By epistemological I meant relating to a theory of knowledge. My understanding (and misunderstanding) of these things is Popperian.

I'll share one further nagging thought. Do you see some fundamental difference between the mind-body problem and the relationships between other emergent systems (e.g. as represented by fields such as physics, chemistry, biology, etc.)?
