How does your thesis confront the problem of dynamical systems? The value of a model is often realized through interventions and counterfactuals (e.g. I want to treat a particular condition with a particular treatment). These interventions typically disrupt biological systems and undermine predictions (“biology is complicated and difficult to predict with complete accuracy”).

Predictive models for largely static systems still have great value, such as predicting at-risk patients. But your survey seems to extend well beyond these use cases. Is this more a long-term, aspirational posture?
